The general principle is that the robot vacuum cleaner has two special sensors for detecting the magnetic strip. If the robot vacuum cleaner crosses over the strip, this could be caused by the following:
Option 1: The magnetic strip has been divided up too small. If this is the case, the brush on the robot vacuum cleaner can move the magnetic strip – especially on hard flooring. Recommended action: The best solution for this is to put some self-adhesive anti-slip material under the magnetic strip.
Option 2: The magnetic strip is under a carpet. If the carpet is too deep, it can make the gap between the magnetic strip and the hall sensors too big and the magnetic strip won’t be recognized. Recommended action: In this case, the magnetic strip needs to be laid just in front of the carpet, so that the robot recognizes it before it goes onto the carpet.
If your robot vacuum cleaner also crosses over larger pieces of magnetic strip, then it could have a hardware fault. In that case, it needs to be checked by our repair service.
